Topaz (M/Y A+)

Costing a modest 527 million dollars, this enormous yacht can easily be considered a floating mansion. It is 147 metres long and weighs around 12 000 tonnes. Launched in 2012 and designed by a shipyard in Germany famous for its naval ships, special vessels and yachts, Lurssen, Topaz (now known as M/Y A+) is a prized possession of Abu Dhabi tycoon, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The superyacht features everything you would expect from a small city – a cinema, a gym, a conference room… and of course helicopter landing places for more convenient arrivals. Overall, it offers everything you would expect someone with 500 million to drop on a yacht to have.

Might not be the most expensive one, but it’s certainly the largest private motor yacht in the world up to date! It is 180 metres in length and is yet another masterpiece by that same shipyard, Lurssen. If you want to see it live, you’ll also have to travel to the United Arab Emirates, as this one is owned by President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nayan. Fun fact, this yacht has a pre-installed missile defence system and is bullet proof, so we all know where the most important people of the UAE could run to if things go sideways in the world. And the price? Somewhat reasonable, 600 million dollars on the dot.

Streets of Monaco

This one, as the name already implies, is all about Monaco. In fact, it is still in the process of being build, and once it’s done, it will be a 180-metre long floating mini version of Monaco, featuring replicas of its most important points of interest and Monte Carlos most famous landmarks plus a go-kart track, multiple swimming pool and a mini waterfall. Due to its unique nature, it is fair to say this is one of the more architecturally impressive yachts out there. It is priced at 1 billion dollars.

While most of these beauties belong to important figures from the Middle East, Eclipse is a beloved possession of a Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. It’s so expensive it is hard to estimate its price, but it’s believed to cost around 1.5 billion dollars. With a disco hall, a private defence system and 24 guest bedrooms, one of the wealthiest men in Russia has not spared his wallet for this yacht!

History Supreme

The most expensive yacht in the world as of now, and it is priced at 4.8 billion dollars. You’re probably wondering where such drastic jump in price came from. Well, there is nothing out of ordinary with this yacht comparing to the previously listed ones, except… it is built out of 10,000 kilograms of solid gold and platinum. This one is worth a closer look than a couple of paragraphs, that’s for sure.
